Every box includes three things: Dirt Crew Mag, monthly keepsake and an artprint.
Dirt Crew Mag is an A5 magazine written specifically for girls aged 10-16 who ride - or want to ride - mountain bikes. Each issue covers rider stories, real skills, honest content on the stuff that actually affects girls in sport, and things to make and do.
The keepsake changes every month - Issue 01 includes a sticker kit (blank sticker sheets, a fine liner, pre-printed Dirt Crew stickers for her bike or helmet) and an enamel pin. Future keepsakes include ride logs, skills posters, rider cards and more.
Issue 01 is called You Belong Here and it's our permanent welcome issue - designed to be the right starting point for any girl joining the crew, no matter when she subscribes.
It covers everything from finding your first trail to what it actually means to call yourself a rider. Every new subscriber receives Issue 01 as their first box, then rolls into the current monthly issue from there.
Dirt Crew is designed for girls aged 10-16. The content is written to feel relevant and age-appropriate across that whole range - not too young, not too old.
If your daughter is just outside that range, use your judgement - a confident 9-year-old reader or a 17-year-old who loves MTB will likely get just as much from it.
Not at all. Dirt Crew is for girls who ride and girls who want to ride. The content is written to be welcoming whether she's been hitting trails for years or has never tried MTB and is just curious.
Plenty of our content - finding your first trail, getting started with gear, building confidence - is specifically for beginners. There's no gatekeeping here.
Dirt Crew is written specifically for girls aged 10-16 - and the content, including how we talk about sport, confidence, and identity, is designed with girls in mind.
Any young rider who loves MTB will find plenty to enjoy in the magazine itself, but the box is built for girls first.
No. Dirt Crew Mag is completely ad-free. Every page is editorial content - no paid placements, no sponsored pages, no adverts dressed up as articles. What you read is what we chose to put there.
Dirt Crew is founded and led by Shawnee, an Australian mountain biker based in Scotland and the founder of Unbound Collective. The magazine is created with a team of specialist contributors - including a registered sports nutritionist, an MTB-specific trainer, and a sport psychologist - alongside real riders, coaches and community figures from the MTB world.
Every issue is written for girls, by people who understand what they're going through.
We care about this. The magazine is printed on FSC-accredited paper and the boxes are kraft card - recyclable and plastic-free. We use minimal packaging and avoid single-use plastic wherever possible.
As we grow we'll keep reviewing our materials and suppliers. If you have questions about a specific component, drop us a line at hello@dirtcrewmag.co.uk.
Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled anytime - no questions asked, no admin fees. Just log into your account or get in touch and we'll take care of it. Cancellation takes effect after the current month's box has been sent.
3 and 6 month subscriptions are paid upfront and run for the full term. If something unexpected comes up, get in touch at hello@dirtcrewmag.co.uk and we'll do our best to help.
If the box isn't right for her, get in touch within 14 days of receiving your first box and we'll issue a full refund - no fuss.
For ongoing subscriptions, if you cancel your monthly subscription partway through a month, the box for that month will still be sent as the payment has already been processed.
For prepay subscriptions cancelled early, we'll refund the remaining unmailed issues at the monthly rate, minus any discount already applied. Get in touch and we'll work it out fairly.
Please get in touch at hello@dirtcrewmag.co.uk with a photo of the damage or a description of what's missing, and we'll send a replacement straight away. We want every box to arrive in perfect condition.
If you need to take a break - holidays, a busy exam period, life getting in the way - drop us a message at hello@dirtcrewmag.co.uk and we'll do our best to accommodate a pause rather than a full cancellation. We'd rather keep you in the crew.
Dirt Crew is a monthly subscription box for girls aged 10-16 who ride mountain bikes - or who want to. Every box contains Dirt Crew Mag (an MTB magazine written specifically for girls) and a hands-on keepsake activity.
Dirt Crew is part of Unbound Collective - a Scottish MTB brand based in Stirling, founded by Shawnee.
Because more than a million teenage girls disengage from sport in the UK every year - and the research shows it's not because they don't want to be active. It's because of fear of judgement, body image, periods, not feeling like a "real" rider, and the quiet sense that sport just isn't for someone like them.
Every issue of Dirt Crew directly addresses one of those barriers. The mission is simple: keep girls riding, and make sure they know they were always welcome on the trail.
Dirt Crew is founded by Shawnee, an Australian mountain biker and founder of Unbound Collective. She started riding in 2018 and has spent years watching girls find their footing on the trail without getting the community or support they need to stay there. Dirt Crew is her answer to that.

We'd love that. Every issue has a Crew Spotlight section featuring a real girl in the MTB community - featured for showing up, not for winning. If your daughter rides and you think she'd be a great fit, email us at hello@dirtcrewmag.co.uk with a bit about her and a photo.
We also feature reader letters and photos in each issue - the Last Page challenge in every issue invites her to send in a photo from her next ride.
